Water sources are identified. Native bees prefer to be within 300-500 feet of a water source for nesting/foraging.
(Implementation details: GIS water maps are used to highlight water sources. This can also be user-editable, as wet areas or birdbaths may not be processed correctly based only on GIS data and/or satellite imagery. Additionally, we imagine using more complex combinations of GIS climate and geological data (average daily temperature, humidity, dew point, elevation) to calculate the likelihood of morning dew, which is an acceptable water source for native bees. The concept can scale as new or better data becomes available.)
